HEY GUYS I FOUND A MEME

Regarding my own characters, please ask:
1. What initially prompted me to write/draw them.
2. One of their best traits.
3. One of their worst traits.
4. How easy/difficult I find it to write/draw the character.
5. The moment where I feel that I truly captured the character.
6. My plans to write/draw the character in the near future.

Sadly I post drawings of my own characters so rarely on here.  :(  They get pushed aside for projects, trades and the odd commission.  I really need to fix that.  But some are hiding here: [link]

Speaking of, I think I'm going to get back to writing soon.  I hate the fact that I have so many ideas and never do anything with them.  Some of my stories and characters I've been working on for 11+ years now.  So sad.  Since my drawing skills will never catch up, I'm going to get back to writing because I miss it.  However I don't know if I'll post it on DA yet... I'm paranoid and strangely sensitive about my writing. I don't know why.  :noes:

Random question time: what is your screen rez set to?  At home it's 1600x1200, the max I can get on this monitor(good for arting), while at work it's 1024x768 (good for typing work).  So many of my coworkers use 800x600.  It makes me feel claustrophobic!

Anyhoo, my shoulder is starting to feel better so I'm still going to relax for another week.  Catch you guys next weekend if not before then.

FAQ #61: What is a Daily Deviation?
FAQ #18: Who selects Daily Deviations and how are they chosen?
FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?
Please note me with your suggestions! But some things to keep in mind:
:bulletblue: Please only send suggestions from the Manga/Anime gallery OR (any) Oekaki gallery. Fan art goes to $aunjuli, even Anime fan art.
:bulletblue: Usually I will not respond to DD suggestion notes. It's not to be rude, but I DO read every one and then file them in my Notes. Trust me! I'm very grateful for all suggestions as finding DDs isn't easy.

It is easy to feel paranoid over posting your writing online, I find writing is more personal then art in a way. It is like allowing people into your personal thoughts and ideas. It can be hard at first, but it does get easier over time and really allowed me to learn where to improve my skills and stories telling. You should give it a try sometime and see what comes of it. Mind you DA is not a great place for posting writing, you may want to try other writing sites as well to get a wider audience of readers.

As for computer monitors my Laptop is simply 1024x768, while Kim's new monster is 1680x1050, flip screen so she can turn the entire thing sideways so it is 1050x1680, it is the strangest thing. I wish I had a better monitor, maybe when we get the 45' LCD TV we'll just hook up Kim's computer to that and I'll use her old monitor. *grins*

Well take your time resting.

Honestly I'll probably stick to posting it on LJ until I get a less-than-rough draft ready. Plus on there I have some close friends who, if willing to help, are experts in editing. :) Plus they'll be nicer than random strangers on DA... not that anyone on DA reads prose. :noes:

Maybe eventually I'd post it here though, I'd hate to keep stories from friends who might actually want to read it! What's the point otherwise? :P

Posting anywhere is good, as long as others get to read it so you can get some feedback. I only have a few real life friends and most are not really interested in my insane stories so I have to depend on strangers to help me out.

Oh people read prose on DA, you just have to be good at creating that perfect opening line to get them to read it and are able to keep their attention through more then one chapter, but then again that is the challenge of being a writer. Funny thing is that my first novel is my fifth most popular piece out of all of my works so people must be reading them. It does help to have art to back up the story as well mind you.

Exactly. Well I wish you luck, if you like I know of a good set of books that are very helpful when it comes to writing, inspirational as well. I could send you the list if you like.

My screen resolution is 1280x800.

In general I would say it's better the have the maximum resolution (with the best colour support available).

At home I use some resolution that is like 13something by something. I dunno ^^; It was the native resolution of my TV so thats why I use it (cause they are hooked up together and clone). At work I use 1280x960 :aww:

1. I had this vague idea about colored-coded demons in my head and was doodling in Tegaki... and Lukas was born.
2. For a devil he's actually quite personable and friendly. Actually this is a bad trait for him maybe?
3. Red demons deal in the bartering/selling of souls. So most likely, no matter who nice he seems, he'll do his best to get yours out of you.
4. SO EASY. He has simple, anime-esque eyes and face-shape. The only thing that gives me problems is the angle of his horns.
5. Hm, the story is pretty new so I don't think I've done that yet.
6. Oh I have an epic one of him planned due to his love of 80s music.
