Making a manga can be a scary thing since there are so many aspects that it requires: A plot, characters, genre, theme and much more. They take a lot of practice and you really have to commit to them. I have heard many people say that they want to draw a manga but they are afraid that it will come out bad. Well fear not, because we are proud to present the "Find Your Seats" contest!
In honour of the baseball season starting up the object of this contest is to create a 5-10 page short manga telling a brief story about getting to your seats at a baseball game! But, as a curveball you have to tell this story using the genre of supernatural. So anything that deals with the supernatural (i.e. Ghosts, magic, mind reading etc… ) must be incorporated into your short story.
Rules:
The characters in the story must be your own characters. They can be created for this story or you can use any of your own characters.
The panels can be read right to left or left to right, it doesn't really matter but make sure you specify which way they read.
This can be in color, gray scale or tones and can be either digital or traditional.
Use fictional teams, we don't want to be infringing on any teams logos right? (i.e. Boston Red Sox sock logo or the New York Yankees NY logo).
2 or more panels are required per page. As much as this is a contest, it is also practice, so don't sell your self short by just having 1 full page picture for a page, that defeats the purpose of paneling.
Have FUN! Manga is fun so have fun with it, don't get stressed out over it.
You can create a cover if you like, but it's not necessary.
Submission:
Upload your pages into your gallery into the correct contest gallery (name coming soon! Please check back!)
Add all the pages in the correct order into a folder (So page 1 first, then page 2 etc. If you have a Cover, make that first then 1,2,3… ) FAQ #762: What is the Gallery Folders Feature and how do I use it?
You will be judged on:
How well you use the theme and genre
How well your panels flow into each other
Use of Dialog and speech bubbles
The contest will end on June 30, 2008 at 11:59PM PST!
Judges: Damaged927 and azarath
Prizes:
1st Prize - $40 deviantdollars
2nd Prize – $30 deviantdollars
3rd Prize – $20 deviantdollars

I miss hearing from people, getting comments/critiques/etc. Maybe it's time I moved on to a different site for good... Maybe I just need to clear out my DevWatch of all people and start from scratch.
Pixiv seems nice so far even if I don't hear from folks on there, but hey, I don't speak Japanese so it's all good. Anyone else have Pixiv accounts?

Hi everyone. I've been battling a lot of health issues lately, on top of working at a job that is 1.5 hours longer than my old one each day. These things don't leave me much time to draw. However, I got a tablet laptop from my job, so now I can do digital art on the go. I hope this will help with my productivity!
I hope you're all well~
